Students of the Fashion Department designed original outfits to match specific balls, under the guidance of the style teachers and Katarina Van Den Bossche. All the BA students could design proposals and 10 looks were selected from the sketches to be implemented by Rosalinde Heerkens and Aurélie Callewaert of the Antwerp pattern studio Trois-Quarts. Walter Van Beirendonck, Head of the Fashion Department, came up with the idea and concept for this fashion landmark in the city at the request of MoMu.

The look for this Fashion Ball was designed by Margot Verstuyft, Belgian, 1 BA 2021, Antwerp Fashion Department, so we asked her a few questions:
Why do you study in Antwerp?
The academy has always fascinated me because of it's artistic freedom. As an individual you are tremendously stimulated to develop oneself. Besides that, I live in Antwerp and love the city.
Why did you participate in the fashion balls project?
As a first year student, it is a unique opportunity and experience to be part of the reopening of the Fashion Museum.
What did you design and what was your inspiration behind it?
Een lichte blauwgroenige silhouette maakt de Schelde, water en wind voelbaar.
