A love for tailoring and craftsmanship form a common thread throughout the collections by Dirk Van Saene. In addition to fashion, he also creates paintings and ceramics. Surrealist trompe l’oeil elements regularly recur in his work, with the occasional wink of the eye. They give his designs an elegant, humorous touch. For example, this apron bears an image of Superwoman, the earrings are made of belt buckles and the dress is styled over the sweater.
